Find freedom from fear and stop avoiding the things that scare you
Therapy for Phobias
Are fears or phobias stressing you out?
Maybe you avoid certain places, situations, or activities because the thought of facing them fills you with dread, or perhaps you've structured your entire life around not encountering the thing you fear. You may be experiencing panic attacks just thinking about your phobia, or simply feeling ashamed that something "irrational" has this much power over you.
Whatever it is that you're experiencing, you're beginning to notice the impact of this in every facet of your life:
Missing out on experiences—travel, career opportunities, social events—because your phobia limits where you can go
Feeling embarrassed when you have to explain why you can't do something others find simple
Enduring situations that cause you great anxiety
Watching your world get smaller as you avoid more and more to prevent triggering your fear
What If You Could Actually Be Free—Not Just "Manage" Your Fear?
This Is Why I Use Brainspotting and EMDR—Because You Deserve More Than Just "Coping"
These aren't just different techniques. They're a completely different kind of healing—one that goes deeper than talk therapy alone. Brainspotting and EMDR access the stuck part directly.
We're not trying to convince your brain that you're safe. We're helping it actually reprocess and release the fear that got stuck there.
Whether you’ve had scary past experiences, a panic attack on the plane, a dog lunging at you as a child, a bad car accident, or whether the fear developed gradually, Brainspotting and EMDR can help your body release the fear.
You’ve tried forcing yourself onto planes, white-knuckling through the panic. Made yourself drive on the highway, heart pounding the entire time. Pushed yourself near the thing that terrifies you, hoping that this time, somehow, the fear would fade.
But it didn't. You might be able to do the thing, but it still makes you anxious.
What if you didn't have to endure it anymore? What if your nervous system could actually let it go?
Phobia Therapy Can Help
This Happens Faster Than You Think
With Brainspotting and EMDR, most phobias resolve in 3-12 sessions.
This isn't about building courage or learning to cope. It's about your brain releasing the fear pattern that's been running your life.
It may feel impossible now, but you can face what terrifies you without panic. You can reclaim the experiences and opportunities you've been missing. You can feel confident and free instead of controlled by fear
Phobia therapy helps you do 3 things:
Identify and process the root of your fear—whether it's a past traumatic experience, a panic attack that created the phobia, or anxiety that's grown over time
Desensitize your nervous system's fear response using Brainspotting and EMDR, so your brain stops treating normal situations as life-threatening emergencies
Build confidence and practical coping tools that allow you to face your fear and prove to yourself that you can do this

A: Our sessions are designed to gently reduce your fear response. We use Brainspotting and EMDR to help your brain reprocess the fear at its source by working directly with your nervous system to "turn down" the panic response. Sessions might involve talking about your phobia while noticing sensations in your body, then using specific techniques to help your brain release the fear. Many clients are surprised by how much calmer they feel about their phobia after just a few sessions.

A: Many clients with specific phobias experience significant relief within 6-12 sessions, though this depends on the severity of your phobia and whether there are underlying traumas contributing to it. Brainspotting and EMDR often work much faster than traditional talk therapy because they address the root cause in your nervous system. My goal is always to help you find freedom from your phobia as quickly as possible—not to keep you in therapy indefinitely.

A: If you have an intense, persistent fear of specific things—such as flying, driving, heights, animals, needles, vomiting, enclosed spaces, or other situations—that are limiting your life, you're an excellent candidate for this work. Brainspotting and EMDR are particularly effective for phobias because they help your brain reprocess the fear response itself, not just teach you to tolerate the anxiety. Even long-standing phobias that have been present for years can improve significantly with these methods. During our free consultation, we can discuss your specific phobia and determine the best approach for you.
